YOU CAN MAKE A CHANGE IN THE LIFE OF ONE YOUTH TODAY.

A little about the program

Welcome to the Clayton Ridge and St. Mary's Mentoring Program (CRSMMP) web page! It is our mission to strive to connect youth with a positive adult role model who can help them aspire, achieve, and develop to their fullest.

Our team is comprised of volunteers who fill roles of mentors and committee members, co-coordinators Elizabeth Wolfe and Lynette Pritchard, and of course the most important part, our mentees (who are ages 5-17 and reside within the Clayton Ridge School District).

Mentors are required to fill out an application, pass several background checks, and complete a 2 hour training on mentorship. There are two different ways a person can mentor. They can either make a year long commitment to a mentee (3 hours per month - minimum) or choose to be a mentor for a day.

We also have four different committees that support our Program. They are the marketing, activities, sustainability, and steering committee. Again, these committees are all ran by volunteers who offer to share their motivation, knowledge, wisdom, and expertise.

DONATE

The most important part

The final component is our mentees. Many ask who can have a mentor. Any child from the age of 5-17 within the Clayton Ridge School District can have a mentor. Sometimes children just need to experience connection with others outside of their immediate family, maybe they are an only child, or potentially a single mom. Maybe a family is dealing with chronic health problems, just needs someone neutral to connect with, or JUST BECAUSE. This is an opportunity for children to build healthy connections and relationships with others in the community and begin to build natural support networks within our own communities. #communitystrong

No mentor requests are denied; however, the child may be placed on a waiting list if a best-match mentor is not available.

If you would like further information, interested in becoming a mentor, or interested in signing up a loved one to be mentored please feel free to stop by the Family Resource Center or call @ 563-252-3215
